Other highlights of his work include the Virginia Beach Westin hotel, which continues to be the tallest building along the east coast from Charlotte, NC to Philadelphia, PA. With a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and master’s degree in Construction Management from Drexel University, TJ has over 19 years in the construction field overseeing all phases of multi-million-dollar, complex construction projects including k-12 education, higher education, retail, commercial, hospitality, entertainment, transportation, government and infrastructure projects. A team player, TJ holds an excellent track record of strong working relationships with owners, architects and engineers, resulting in successful construction experiences. Ballard Construction (SBBCC), Project Manager TJ Thomas is responsible for total project management including controlling budgets, negotiating subcontracts and providing oversight of the day-to-day activities and communication with the project team from preconstruction through design, construction and close-out to ensure the schedule is met and the project stays within the Owner’s budget. While there, Bill’s leadership and recommendations shaped the way his organization implemented and practiced project management.īill is the editor and co-author of The Ultimate Public Works Project Management Manual, proven project management approaches designed specifically for the Public Works Project Manager.īill was appointed by the Governor of Virginia, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Public Service Authority and is also the President Elect of Hampton Roads Design-Build Institute of America.Īt S.B. Prior to working with STV, Bill served as the Chief of Engineering and Construction as well as the Deputy District Engineer for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District. He was the Territory Manager of the Norfolk Virginia office providing full engineering and architectural services to federal, municipal and private clients. Prior to launching Sorrentino Consulting, LLC, he served as a Vice President at STV Incorporated. Concurrently,īill is the CEO of Sorrentino Consulting, LLC which provides services that focuses on improving project delivery specifically to the Architect-Engineering industry. He is also active in the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) and provides training on collaborative project delivery.īill is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a certified Project Management Professional and a Design Build Professional with over 40 years of exceptional design and construction experience.īill is the Vice President of Leebcor Services, LLC which is a full-service General Contractor and Design-Build firm primary focused in the federal construction space. Husselbee is the past chair of the Water Environment Federation Utility Management Committee and a member of the VWEA Utility Management Committee. ![]() Husselbee has been active with many of the professional organizations in the local area including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Engineers Club of Hampton Roads and is the past Chair of the ODU Civil and Environmental Engineering Visiting Council. A major role for his department includes implementing HRSD’s $2.8B, 10-Year Capital Improvement Program. His responsibilities include the management of the Asset Management, Design & Construction and Planning & Analysis Divisions. Prior to HRSD, he worked in the consulting engineering field for twelve (12) years.
